Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the mud sampler which can sample the test sample efficiently from floating mud and bottom layered water, by the retainer of the sample tube freely slided to the cylinder, which can pass water at lifting down and can not pass at lifting up.
CONSTITUTION: When the mud sampler 1 lifts down, the water flowing from the tip of the sample tube 2 flows out through the water inlet 13 of the retainer 3 and the opening 22 of the cylinder 4 as shown in the arrow, and when the tip of the tube 2 is injected to the mud layer I, the mud is sampled in the tube 2 without mixing the mud. Next, when the tip of the tube 2 reaches hard bottom layer II, the tip of the hold member 24 is removed from the holding hole 14 of the retainer 3, and the valve seat 15 is activated upward with the spring 21. Further, when the sampler 1 is lifted up, the valve seat 15 closes the water inlet 13 and simultaneously the cylindrical rubber film 6 closes the lower end of the tube 2, and the sampled test sample in the tube 2 can be lifted up without being mixed.
