Abstract
PURPOSE: To have a highly reliable temperature control which does not require much cost, by inserting an encapsulated metallic hydrogen compound into the heat accumulating material for the heat of exhaust gas from an engine and by permitting the pressure of hydrogen gas generated at the time of the heat accumulating material being at high temperature to actuate the bypass valve for the accumulating material.
CONSTITUTION: The exhaust gas 100 from an engine is led through a heat accumulator 101 to be used there for warming etc. of the car. When the accumulating material is at high temperature a valve 105 is opened to release the exhaust gas 100 out to a bypass pipe 102 and thereby to protect the heat accumulating material. In this heat accumulating material 101 is inserted a thermosensor 104 with encapsulated metallic hydrogen compound 106 connected to a pipe 107 whose one end is in communication to a chamber 105a in a diaphragm for operating the valve 105. Because this metallic hydrogen compound release hydrogen when the accumulating material is at high temperature owing to a chemical reaction, the pressure in the pipe 107 becomes high to actuate the abovementioned diaphragm and thereby to open the valve 105, and the exhaust gas 100 is thus led toward the bypass 102. A simple protection of heat accumulating material is thus accomplished.
