Abstract

PURPOSE: In a sefety valve taster which is used for an atomic power plant, to eliminate increase of the exhaust side pressure and water hammer by discharging the exhaust gas from the safety valve through a muffler into recovered water in a temperature controlled condenser.
CONSTITUTION: When the pressure in a vapor tank 1 reaches the blow-out pressure of a safety valve 3, the safety valve 3 is opened and vapor in the vapor tank 1 is discharged. This vapor is led through an exhaust duct 4 to a condenser 5 and thence led after pressure reduction through a muffler 6 into the recovered water. The recovered water in a water recovery section A is held at a constant temperature by a temperature-increasing heat exchanger 7 and a temperature-reducing heat exchanger 8. The heat exchangers 7 and 8 are operated by coupling a signal from a temperature detector 12 to adjustment valves 13 and 15. When the temperature of the recovered water in the recovery section A is high, the adjustment valve 15 is opened while closing the valve 13 to reduce the rate of supply of vapor or saturated water from the duct 16 while increasing the rate of supply of cool water from a cool water duct 17. When the temperature of the recovered water in the water recovery section is low, the operation is reversed.
