Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled fuel evolving an exhaust gas of low black smoke concentration, consumed at a reduced rate and giving high engine power output, which is obtd. by dissolving liquefied petroleum gas in gas oil in a specified wt ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A given amt. of gas oil is charged into a closed fuel tank 20 of a diesel engine, in which 3W20wt%, based on the total fuel, liquefied petroleum gas is introduced and dissolved in the gas oil, to prepare the purpose fuel. To use the fuel, it is sent from the fuel make up tank 20 through a value 6 to a closed tank 2, introduced through a fuel filter 3 to a fuel injection pump 4, by which it is pressurized, and then combusted by injecting through a fuel injector 5 into a combustion chamber 1. Thus it is possible to use the liquefied petroleum gas-containing gas oil fuel evolving an exhaust gas of low black smoke concentration by utilizing a current diesel engine fuel supply system without substantial alteration.
