Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a low-pollution hydrocarbon fuel by which an effect for inhibiting the generation of smoke and CO2 gas can be obtd immediately after the addition by a method wherein an organogermanium cpd. or an organosilicon cpd and alcohols are incorporated into a hydrocarbon fuel such as gosoline.
CONSTITUTION: An organogermanium cpd. (A) such as (GeCH2CH2COOH)2O3 or an orgaoisilicon cpd. (B) such as (SiCH2CH2COOH)2 and alcohols (C) are mixed with a hydrocarbon fuel such as gasoline. By the addition of the cpd (A) or (B) to the fuel, CO is converted to CO2, hydrocarbons are converted to water and CO2, and NOx is separated and oxidized. Further, O2 is generated in a combustion engine, and thus the combustion efficiency is improved, the formation of carbon is inhibited and the emission of black smoke is reduced. Alcohols serve as an auxiliary fuel, and a low-pollution fuel can be obtd. by the alcohols. By combining the alcohols with the cpd (A) or (B), the effect of the alcohols is further improved.
