Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower NOx in a combustion chamber by a method wherein as fuel and burning air are blown from the same hole, the flame of a burner is elongated and the NOx produced by a burner on the upper stream is reduced through this elonagted flame.
CONSTITUTION: Oil is sprayed from an injector 2 at the point of an oil gun 1 and part of the burning air is supplied by a rotary blade 4 at the point of the injector from the ambient blowing passage 3 to the sprayed oil. The sprayed oil is burnt and forms a primary flame F as a piloting flame. Burning gas is supplied from a blowing passage 5 and most of the burning air cannot be mixed with the sprayed oil or the primary flame F near the burner but mixed at a place far fromthe burner and therefore the secondary flame F' produced there is elongated. As NOx produced by the burner on the upper stream side passes through this long flame, the NOx is reduced to N2 by reducing agent like HC, HCN, NH3, etc. and low NOx combustion is conducted in the combustion chamber.
