Abstract
PURPOSE:To cause NOx and a reduction chemical species to be mixed to effectively accelerate the reduction reaction by movably disposing a nozzle which forms the reducing combustion flame so that the end of the nozzle may be moved toward the center of the combustion flame. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 1 for forming a reducing flame is disposed to be movable in the lateral direction, and forms the reducing flame by ejecting fuel only or fuel/air mixture having a low air content. By positioning the end of said nozzle 1 in a zone where most NOx are generated in the gas turbine combustor, the NOx generated by premixture combustion are effectively neutralized by a reducing chemical species. The NOx generated by premixture combustion are reduced to harmless nitrogen through a reaction with CH radical and C2 radical which are generated from the reducing flame formed by the fuel/air mixture having a low air content which is ejected out of the nozzle 1.
