Abstract
PURPOSE:To add Al stably at a high yield to molten steel by adding molten iron melting Al beforehand to the molten steel in adding Al to the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:Molten iron is charged from a ladle 1 into a converter 2, and oxygen is blown through a lance 4, by which the molten iron is refined to steel. The molten iron is charged from the ladle 1 into an induction heating furnce 5 in a gaseous nitrogen atmosphere, and Al is added thereto, whereby the molten metal melting the Al without oxidizing the same is prepared. At the time of transferring the molten steel from a converte 2 into a ladle 3, the Al-contg. molten iron is added into the molten steel in the ladle 3 by a treating pan 6. At the time of adding Al to the molten steel, the Al is not oxidized by molten slag and air, the Al is added stably at a high yield and with less variance in the yield.
