Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a fuel consumption amount of a baking furnace of the titled apparatus used in a papermaking plant or the like by a method wherein a malodorant gas is heat exchanged with a clinker to subject a malodorant component to thermal decomposition and the resulting gas is used as secondary air to heat said secondary air to a high temp.
CONSTITUTION: A partition plate 17 is provided to a position where a clinker temp. corresponds to an ignition temp. of a malodorant component to be decomposed in a waste heat recovering apparatus 3 to divide an air chamber into two chambers. A malodorant gas generated in a pulp digesting procedure is introduced into an air chamber 7a of a high temp. side from a discharge duct 12 by a fan 13. The malodorant gas cools a clinker during a time when passed through a clinker layer 8 through grates 4a, 4b and the gas itself is heated and combusted to decompose a malodorant component therein. The heated decomposed gas is flowed into a rotary kiln as secondary air and the undecomposed malodorant component in the clinker layer is also decomposed completely in the kiln to be converted an odorless gas. Cooling air A is supplied into a downstream side air chamber 7b to cool the clinker layer 8 to a predetermined temp.
