Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display device that can assume display modes of a wire function range by dividing the space in a liquid crystal cell by means of partition walls of sealing materials and providing an injection port for liquid crystals to each of the divided spaces. CONSTITUTION:The space in the cell sandwiched by two sheets of upper, lower glass substrates 1a, 1b is divided to three spaces 3a, 3b, 3c by partition walls 2 constituted of sealing materials. For the partition walls which constitute the outer surfaces of the cell, injection port 4a, 4b, 4c for injecting liquid crytal are provided in the spces 3a, 3b, 3c. These ports 4a, 4b, 4c are provided respectively on different side faces and therefore the work of injecting respectively different liquid crystals in the spaces 3a, 3b, 3c is accomplished easily. Since the sealing materials 2 are formed by seal printing and are in tight adhesion with the upper and lower cell substrates, the independency of the spaces 3a, 3b, 3c is perfectly maintained, and the mutual mingling of the respectively injected different liquid crystals is obviated.
