Abstract
PURPOSE: To cut a quantity of organic sludge to be incinerated thus, to reduce energy for in incineration treatment of the sludge by reducing a moisture content of the sludge with a steam compressor to less than such the moisture permitting the self combustion of the sludge furtherm through utilizing excess heat in the incineration treatment for the preheating of sludge or for other purposes.
CONSTITUTION: Organic sludge 1 is made to heat exchange through heat exchangers 9, 10 and, then, is introduced into a treating vessel 11 as the sludge is preheated up to higher temperature. The moisture of the sludge is evaporated through heating with a condenser 19 and is delivered into a steam compressor 12, thereby, the sludge 1 is made to dry. The dehydrated sludge 14 deied in the vessel 11 is incinerated with an incinerator 6. Thereby, excess heat, which is generated in incinerating the sludge, is recovered through a heating medium 15, which is circulated with a pump 21, in a heat exchanger 20 for heat recovery. Then the medium 15 retaining the excess heat delivered into a cooler 16 by way of a heat engine 13, which drives the steam compressor and the heat exchanger 10, where the cooling water 17 is utilized to cool the medium 15 so as to prevent the overheating of the device 6. Thereafter, the medium 15 is delivered into the exchanger 20 provided in the device 6 again, by way of the pump 21.
