Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently generate electric power from a low-quality heat source, by utilizing the phenomenon that the vapor pressure of a turbine working medium falls when a substance which absorbs the medium is brought into contact therewith, to reduce the exhaust pressure of a turbine to improve the thermal efficiency of a Rankine cycle.
CONSTITUTION: A working medium discharged from a turbine 4 is absorbed by a low-concentration solution in an absorber 8. A low-temperature low-concentration solution 13 having absorbed the working medium is introduced into a regenerator 9 by a pump 13 and heated by heat exchange with a high-temperature low-concentration solution 15 conducted from a generator 10. In the generator 10, the low- boiling-point working medium in the solution is evaporated by a heat source 12 so that the working medium is separated from the solution. The high-temperature low- concentration solution 15 whose concentration is lowered by the evaporation of the working medium is cooled by heat exchange in the regenerator 9 and then flows into the absorber 8. The working medium vapor produced in the generator 10 is liquefied by a condenser 7. The liquefied medium is conducted to a vapor generator 2.
