Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the effect of temperature of a mold copper plate, etc. and thus to secure an accurate detection of level, by detecting the temperatures of the copper plate and a coil block and compensating the output of a receiving coil with the degree of temperature drift that is previously set to the temperature conditions. CONSTITUTION:A receiving coil 2 is stored within a coil block 3 of a mold copper plate 1, and temperature-sensitive elements 5 and 5' are buried within the block 3. The temperature drift value which is previously set to the temperature conditions is obtained by the temperature signal and through a compensating circuit 7. In such constitution, the signal of the coil 2 is converted into a prescribed level of output signal through an amplifying converter and then increased or decreased by the above-mentioned drift value and through the circuit 7 to deliver a rear molten surface level signal. As a result, the effect due to the temperature change of the plate 1 and the block 3 can be compensated to detect an accurate molten surface level.
