Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a phase transfer guest-host liquid crystal panel of bright and good contrast and a low cost by using plastics of which the surface to be put in contact with the liquid crystal layer of a back substrate is formed as a conductive irrugularly reflecting body. CONSTITUTION:Metal such as Al, Ag, Ni or Au is vapor-deposited on a film 9 of a matte-finished polyester resin or the like, whereby a conductive irregularly reflecting body layer 10 is formed. Or it is equally well to form the film 9 and the layer 10 on a glass substrate 2 by way of an adhesive. This layer 10 is used as a common electrode for a back substrate. On the other hand, an upper substrate 1 makes a liquid crystal panel provided with a dichromatic nematic-cholesteric liquid crystal layer 8 by using the glass substrate formed with conventional transparent conductive films 3. Thereby, the easy-to-see display of good contrast is obtained and the cost is lowered because the light scattering characteristic of the layer 10 is proper.
