Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve both the setting status of a valve body on its seat face and the performance of seal, by forming an inner seat of a valve body to be lip-shaped so as to be provided with swinging function, in a carburettor provided with a switch valve which closes an air-vent passage in case of stopping an engine.
CONSTITUTION: A switch valve 2 is installed on a carburettor main body 1 and after start of an engine, a diaphragm 3 is attracted by a negative pressure in an intake manifold so as to make a valve body 4 on, while a float chamber 5 is communicated with an air-vent 6. On the other hand after stopping the engine, the valve body 4 is set off by a spring 7 owing to a decrease in the above negative pressure and the float chamber 5 is communicated with a canister passage 8. A lip- shaped rubber is formed through baking process on an end of the valve body 4 in such a way that the edge of the lip is brought into line contact with a periphery of a shaft 9 while, a slit 11 between the valve body 4 and the shaft 9 is set to the minimum allowable value. Thereby, the valve body 4 may be freely swung following seat faces 10, 10' so as to obtain a good performance of seal.
