Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate starting of an internal combustion engine with a suction throttle valve including hot restarting thereof by opening the suction throttle valve to a predetermined opening during stopping of the engine to ensure a required amount of intake fuel air mixture for starting of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: During stopping of an engine, a diaphragm 10 of a diaphragm device 6 is pushed down by a spring 11 to a position in which a plate 12 is abutted against an inner wall of a case 8 so that a suction throttle valve 2 is held to an open position as shown by dot and dash lines through a lever 4. Accordingly, a large amount of fuel air mixture can be fed upon starting of the engine. If the engine is then started again, suction negative pressure produced is introduced to a negative pressure chamber 9 so that the diaphragm 10 is pulled up against the spring 11 thereby to restore the suction throttle valve 2 to an idling opening position as shown by two dots and dash lines through the rod 7 and the layer 4. If the engine is stopped thereafter, the suction throttle valve 2 is opened again to the predetermined opening.
