Abstract

1461130 Spray carburetters FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 4 Dec 1974 [7 Dec 1973] 52349/74 Heading F1H A float chamber vent 38 is closed when an associated engine is inoperative by a spring-biased valve 46. The valve is operated by a diaphragm 58 subject to the vacuum downstream of the throttle valve 24 or the vacuum at a port in the induction passage 12 which is upstream of the throttle valve at idling. The valve 46 is opened or maintained open by a lever 122 which engages the valve projection 48 when the valve 24 is opened beyond a predetermined angle such that the accelerator pump plunger 90 is depressed. The air inlet 42 leading to the vent 38 is connected to the clean side of an air filter.
