Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain excellent properties of pitting corrosion resistance, forming, plastic working and sacrificial anode effect of the alloy, and thereby to produce an Al alloy suitable for fins heat exchanger by adding specially determined amount of Zr, Zn or further Mn, into Al.
CONSTITUTION: An Al ingot containing 0.02W0.15% Zr and 0.1W0.4% Zn, or further 0.05W0.5% Mn, is heat treated uniforly. Then it is manufactured into sheets by hot rolling. Then it is manufactured into sheets by hot rolling, intermediate annealing and cold rolling successively, and is thereafter annealed. This Al alloy-sheet has excellent properties of pitting corrosion resistance, forming, plastic working and sacrificial anode effect, when the alloy is used as fins of a heat exchanger, it will remarkably prolong the life of a heat exchanger.
