PURPOSE:To enable feedback control from the secondary side output by providing a resistance means which is continued intermittently by a switch, on the primary side of an inverter transformer and complementarily operating this switch with a chopper by means of the control signal which is applied to the chopper. CONSTITUTION:Since high voltage is not applied to an x-ray tube 10 while power is being applied, the output voltage of a shunt circuit 30 is lower than the reference voltage. The error amplifier 24 of a feedback control means 17 sends the positive difference voltage output to a chopper drive circuit and drives a chopper 2 by a pulse signal with a high time ratio. Then, when the secondary side output of inverter transformer 8 increases, the output of a shunt circuit 30 approaches to the reference voltage of the amplifier 24 and decreases the time ratio of the output pulse of a drive circuit 25. The switching of the chopper 2 is controlled and a switch drive circuit 27 switches a transistor 19. As a result, since the resistor 18 of a smoothing filter 16 is continuted intermittently with the chopper 2, the oscillation of the secondary side output voltage is controlled and the secondary side feedback control is enabled.
