Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent breakdown of a gas laser device to be caused by excess of withstanding voltage or capacity of output by a method wherein the output voltage of a rectifying circuit is set less than the allowable burden voltage of transistors for control of current. CONSTITUTION:When the burden voltage Vtr of the transistors 2 for control of current exceed the output voltage Voi of the rectifying circuit 19 because of drop of discharge voltage between the anode 9 and the cathode 8 of a laser tube 4 or build-up of an input electric power source voltage, etc., a diode 25 becomes ON- state. Accordingly a discharge current flows through current detecting resistors 26, 3, no current flows in the transistors 2, an output voltage Vo of the current detecting resistor 26 is amplified by a relational amplifier 10 and is applied to a disconnecting circuit 12, and a switch 13 is opened to cut off the input electric power source of the rectifying circuits 19, 20.
