Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively set a GTO to OFF without using a high voltage power source by using as a gate off voltage a voltage proportional ato a load current. CONSTITUTION:When a turn ON signal is applied from a control circuit 4, a transistor 12 is conducted ON, and the secondary output of a transformer 14 flows as a turn ON pulse through a diode 15, a resistor 16, the gate terminal G of a GTO 11, a cathode terminal L and a transformer 14, thereby turning ON the GTO 11. When the turn ON signal is given from the control circuit 4, a transistor 13 is conducted ON, the charged voltage of a capacitor 21 is discharged through the transistor 13, the cathode terminal K of the GTO 11, the gate terminal G and the capacitor 21, and the turn OFF current is flowed, thereby turning OFF the GTO 11. At this time, the voltage used for turning OFF the GTO 11 becomes the magnitude corresponding to the load current of the GTO.
