Abstract
PURPOSE: To avoid fragments of conveyed materials from entering into a cooling water circuit of a cooler for conveying material on a conveyor, in which cooling water is jetted from between the conveyor, by arranging a strainer in a water trap on each side of the conveyor so as to catch fragments.
CONSTITUTION: A conveyor 2 having an endless steel belt 3 is provided with a cooler including nozzles 5 which jet cooling water to the under surface of the steel belt 3 to cool a material to be conveyed on the steel belt 3, the cooling water then falls into a pan 7 and recirculates to the nozzles 5 after being cooled through a circuit 8. There is provided along each side edge of the steel belt 3 a water trap 10 for recerving cooling water 4 leaked through a gap between the steel belt 3 and each of a pair of guide paltes 6 so as to lead the water 4 to a space between guide plates 6 through a discharge port 9 formed in each trap 10. The trap 10 has therein a strainer 11 made of porous material for catching fragments of the conveyed material 1 slipped from the steel belt 3. With this arrangement the pure cooling water 4 can be circulated and the fragments 15 are avoided to enter into the circuit 8.
