Abstract
PURPOSE:To accelerate the stirring of molten metal and molten slag in a converter and accelerate the reaction in steel making-refining and the reaction in slag making by providing bottom tuyeres in specific positions in the relation thereof with a top blown oxygen jet, in an oxygen top blown converter provided with the bottom tuyeres. CONSTITUTION:In an oxygen top blown converter provided with bottom tuyeres 5, the positions of the tuyeres 5 are set between the circumferece (a) that the extension line of an oxygen jet 3 from a top blowing oxygen lance 2 draws on the bottom surface of the surface and the circumference (b) that the point of 1/2 the distance from the circumference (a) up to the inside circumference 11 of the furnace wall draws.
