Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for special denitration installations and reducing agents such as ammonia and reduce NOX considerably at low running costs by charging coarsely ground coal of grain sizes of a specific range to an industrial kiln.
CONSTITUTION: Coarsely ground coal of 100mmW0.01mm grain sizes is charged to the inside or the outlet and inlet of an industrial kiln such as rotary kiln, melting furnace, boiler or the like. The coarsely ground coal charged into combustion gas is allowed to react with the O2 in air to cause self-combustion, whereby a reducing atmosphere is created, the thermal decomposition of the coarsely grained coal is accelerated, CO is produced from the unburned carbon of the coarsely ground coal and the denitration reduction is accomplished. The effect of denitration is made adjustable by adjusting the grain sizes of the coarsely ground coal.
