Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently reduce the nitrogen oxides concentration in a combustion gas by the addition of a gas which can serve as an ammonia source.
CONSTITUTION: A trash incinerator system comprises: a pretreater 3 consisting of a trash reservoir 1 and a trash feed portion; a trash incinerator 4; and a combustion gas treater 5. A feeder 16 of a gas capable of serving as an ammonia source is arranged in the combustion gas dust 20 of the incinerator 4, so that the ammonia source gas reacts with nitrogen oxides in the combustion gas to reduce the concentration of the nitrogen oxides. Removal of nitrogen oxides is most effective in a temperature range of 750W950°C. To keep the combustion gas temperature at the feeder 16 at around 850°C, there is arranged an automatic combustion-gas temperature controller 17 comprising a combustion-gas temperature detector 18 and a controller 19 for a burner 7.
