Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a detection error of the leading edge and the trailing edge of a slip by a punch hole of the slip, by providing a waveform correctig circuit on a slip reader. CONSTITUTION:A signal from a photodetecting element 2 for detecting a light beam from a light source 1 is amplified by an amplifier AMP, and is inputted to a selecting circuit SEL. On the other hand, disorder of a waveform is corrected by a waveform correcting circuit CDR, and it is inputted to the selecting circuit. When the leading edge of a slip is detected, the waveform correcting circuit CDR sets a flip- flop (FF)F1 and subsequently, when a punch hole is detected, an F2 is set. After passing through the punch hole, the F1 is reset, and when the trailing edge of the slip is detected, the F2 is reset. Accordingly, a NAND gate G3 is not influenced by the punch hole, since the output becomes ''1'' at the leading edge of the slip and becomes ''0'' at the trailing edge.
