PURPOSE:To prevent that attitude information is erred by the change in radiating energy by a method wherein offset voltage due to the variations of radiation level of an infrared beam radiating body is detected and the voltage is compensated for negative threshold level. CONSTITUTION:From an output signal of differential circuit, leading edge pulses 19 are generated by positive threshold level. With this pulses as the reference, a sample gate signal 20 is formed so that it meets the timing with which offset voltage occurs on the output signal 10 of the differential circuit. From the offset voltage when this sample gate signal 20 exists and from the predetermined negative threshold level, a negative threshold level is set. With this as the reference, trailing edge pulses 21 are formed. The globe width pulses are detected from the leading edge pulses 19 and the trailing edge pulses 21.
