Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve invariably stable and accurate position detection by equalizing the time when an electric signal rises and crosses a threshold level if the emitted light color of raster light is any one. CONSTITUTION:The 1st electric signal outputted from a photoelectric converting element 41 has a higher peak value than that of the 2nd electric signal outputted from a photoelectric converting element 42, and has a difference T in time when it rises and crosses its threshold level. Then, adjusting circuits 51 and 52 adjust the 1st and 2nd electric signals to eliminate the different T in time. For example, the 1st electric signal is amplified to nearly equalize its peak value to that of the 2nd electric signal and the leading edge is made steep to eliminate the different T in time. Consequently, the rising time of a signal containing a sequence of pulses is unrelated to emitted light color and the stable and accurate output is obtained.
