Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve conversion efficiency by providing a photodetector on an optical axis between an optical fiber and a prescribed rotary elliptic reflecting mirror, and by inputting all luminous flux, emitted from the optical fiber, to the photodetection surface of the photodetector. CONSTITUTION:At the 1st focal point F1 of a rotary elliptic reflecting mirror 13, the light emission surface 10a of an optical fiber 10 is located and in the photodetection surface 12a of a photodetector 12, the 2nd focal point F2 is set. Therefore, luminous flux emitted from the 1st focal point F1 is all focused on the 2nd focal point F2 of the reflecting mirror 13. For this purpose, the light emission surface 10a of the optical fiber 10 is regarded as the 1st focal point, and the photodetection surface 12a of the photodetector 12 which is not on the optical fiber 10 side is regarded as the 2nd focal point. Therefore, the peripheral luminous flux of the emitted luminous flux of the optical fiber 10 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 13 to be focused on the photodetection surface 12a, and the center luminous flux, on the other hand, reaches the photodetection surface 12b directly. Therefore, the emitted luminous flux from the optical fiber 10 reaches the photodetection surface without any loss. This constitution improves the conversion efficiency of the photodetector.
