Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate operation of filling a solid electrolyte with basic material and also to eliminate fluctuation in measuring accuracy and responding performance, by putting securely into the solid electrolyte a solidified basic substance and a lead wire in such a condition that they are put together into an integral body. CONSTITUTION:A solidified basic substance 11 is inserted into a solid electrolyte 10 together with a lead wire 20 so that the basic substance 11 is located on the tip section in the solid electrolyte 10, and at the same time, the tip of the lead wire 20 is made to positively contact inside surface of the solid electrolyte 10. And then, a fixing member 12 is inserted into the solid electrolyte 10 in such a condition that the lead wire 20 is passing through a hole 13. After the fixing member 12 has contacted the basic substance 11, the fixing member 12 is further pushed into the solid electrolyte 10, and the tip of the lead wire 20 is pressed against inside wall surface of the solid electrolyte 10 so that tight attachment is ensured. In the condition that the basic substance 11, the lead wire 20 and the fixing member 12 are securely held in the solid electrolyte 10, the opening is closed by a sealing member 15 consisting of refractory cement, etc.
