PURPOSE:To demodulate an R-Y color difference signal of PAL system without controlling the phase of line switching signal of fH/2, by inputting a reference subcarrier wave having a phase to an R-Y demodulator. CONSTITUTION:A carrier chrominance signal processed at a delay line matrix circuit is inputted to an input terminal A of the 1st switch circuit 1, and that inverted at a phase shifter 2 is inputted to an input terminal B. The circuit 1 is controlled with the output of a multivibrator 3, the output of the circuit 1 is inputted to an input terminal A of the 2nd switch circuit 4, and the output phase-inverted at 180 deg. phase shifter 5 is inputted to an input terminal B, and the output is inputted to an R-Y demodulator 9. The circuit 4 is controlled by a control circuit 7 operated with the output of a phase discriminator 6. An R-Y reference subcarrier wave is inputted to the 3rd switch circuit 10 and added via a 180 deg. phase shifter 11. An R-Y reference subcarrier wave is inputted to a demodulator 9 to output a signal inputted to the circuit 4 alternately and to demodulate the R-Y color difference signal of PAL system.
