Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure an accurate demodulation of a R-Y color difference signal, by producing the fH/2-line switch signal without controlling the phase of the fH/2-line changeover switch. CONSTITUTION:The carrier chrominance signal of the TV signal is applied to one input terminal of the 1st switch 12; while the carrier chrominance signal having an inversion of polarity given to the R-Y axis is applied to the other terminal. The output of the switch 12 is applied to the R-Y demodulator 6. At the same time, the burst signal corresponding to the signal of the switch 12 is applied to one and the other terminals of the 2nd switch 16 that has an operation coupling to the switch 12. Furthermore the chrominance subcarrier signal of the R-Y axis is applied to one terminal of the 3rd switch 24 having two input terminals, and the inverse subcarrier of the -(R-Y) axis is applied to the other terminal each. Then the output subcarrier of the switch 24 is applied to the demodulator 6, and the burst signal of the switch 16 and the chrominance subcarrier to be applied to the demodulator 6 are applied to the phase discriminator 17. The switch signal is produed when no coincidence is obtained for the polarity between the subcarrier and the burst signal, and thus the switches 12 and 16 are changed over with each other.
