Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an R-Y color difference signal having correct polarity, by putting a switch circuit into operation with an fH (horizontal frequency) two-line switching signal whose phase is not controlled. CONSTITUTION:To input terminal H of switch circuit 7, an R-Y reference subcarrier is applied and to the other input terminal L, a subcarrier having the polarity reversed through 180 deg. phase shifter 9 is applied. Switch circuit 7 is brought under the switching control of the output of flip-flop circuit 11 which generates a line switching signal of fH/2 by dividing the frequency of horizontal pulses by two. Then, R-Y demodulator 6 demodulates an R-Y signal with the correct polarity by using the reference subcarrier from switch circuit 7.
