Abstract
The demodulator unit has a pass-band filter (1) which transmits frequency modulated components containing the red chrominance and blue chrominance difference signals. There is also a delay circuit (2) which receives an output signal from the filter (1), and a switching circuit (3) which is equivalent to a double two-pole changeover switch. The switching circuit (3) is connected to separate limiters (6, 7) and frequency discriminators (8, 9). The switching circuit (3) can interconnect any one of its two inputs to any one of its two outputs according to whether the red or the blue chrominance difference signal is sent to one or the other of the demodulators (8, 9). The switching circuit (3) is controlled by horizontal synchronisation pulses modified by a delay circuit (22), an inhibitor gate circuit (23) and a flip-flop circuit (5). The unit also has an integrating circuit connected to one of the demodulators (9) to integrate the demodulated colour identification signal.
