Abstract
1490725 Colour television INDESIT INDUSTRIA ELETTRODOMESTICI ITALIANA SpA 5 Nov 1974 [7 Nov 1973] 47760/74 Heading H4F The phase of a PAL-switch 14 in a colour television receiver is controlled in response to the output of a phase comparator 11 receiving one input from a subcarrier regenerator 12 and the other input from a burst gate 6 via a switch 9 synchronized with PAL-switch 14 and a 90 degree phase delay 10. If switches 9 and 14, controlled by a multivibrator 8, are operating in the correct phase all the bursts received by phase comparator 11 are of a constant phase (+ 135 degrees relative to the B-Y axis) whereas if switches 9 and 14 are operating in the incorrect phase successive bursts received by phase comparator 11 are in antiphase (-135 degrees, + 45 degrees); in the latter situation phase comparator 11 provides a signal which alternates at half line frequency which signal passes through a half line frequency selective circuit 17 to a rectifier circuit 18 which provides a signal either to reset multivibrator 8 or to change a change-over switch connected to the output of multivibrator 8 to invert the control signal supplied to switches 9 and 14. The output of phase comparator 11 controls subcarrier regenerator 12 to supply a signal in phase with the bursts received by phase comparator 11, which is supplied via a 135 degree phase delay 13 to B-Y demodulator 3 and PAL-switch 14.
