Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a quantity of flow at high-reliability, by a method wherein, in a hot water feed system, a magnet is placed in a runner turning corresponding to the flow of the fluid, and an emanated magnetic field is provided to a hole effect element. CONSTITUTION:A device consists of the following units; a cylindrical body 1 which is made of a nonmagnetic material and is connected to a line at the opposite ends thereof, a runner 10 which is housed in said body in a manner to be pivotally supported by means of a bearing 6 and runs at the number of revolutions approximately in proportion to a fluid amount flowing through the body, a permanent magnet 12 which is positioned at the outer circumference part of the runner 10, a hole effect element 13 which is energized by a magnet 12 located in the body 1, and a non- magnetic metal tube 2 which is attached to the body to reinforce the body. The magnet 12 turns followed by the rotation of the runner 10, and a magnetic field is provided to the element 13. As a result, a pulse, corresponding to a quality of flow, is generated at an output terminal 16 of the element 13, and is converted by means of a D/A converter 17 to measure the quantity of flow.
