Abstract
PURPOSE:To accomplish an accurate measurement of a water flow free from the direction of housing tube by arranging two magnetic needles 3 and 4 housed in a tube, a means of fixing the magnetic needles, a rotatable float and a magnet provided at the free end thereof. CONSTITUTION:Two magnetic needles 3 and 4 are fixed in a housing tube 2 with a magnetic needle fixing means. A float 23 is arranged below the needles 3 and 4 with the lower end thereof rotatably supported. The float 23 is mostly immersed in underground water. With a water flowing, fluid resistance works on a mobile float section and is transmitted to a fixed float section whereby the float 23 is entirely turned in the direction of the water flow around a steel ball 28 in a rotatable support 29. This enables accurate measurement of the direction of the water flow free from the attitude of the water flow when it was thrown into the tube 2.
