Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of an electrode in an electromagnetic flow speed meter, and to prevent the inflow of a fluid into a detecting cylinder, by using a ringed metalic pipe as the detecting cylinder, and by utilizing the metallic pipe as the electrode as it is.
CONSTITUTION: A core 5 and a coil 8 wound on the core 5 are arranged to an approximate central portion of the interior of an end-closed hollow cylindrical body 6 so that the central axes be identical to the central axis of the cylindrical body 6. The core 5 and the coil 8 are positioned by means of an insulating filler 16 filled in the cylindrical body 6 and fixed. The cylindrical body 6 is made of a non-magnetic metallic material having a high corrosion resistance, such as stainless steel, and constitutes a body portion of a detecting cylinder 4, the cylindrical body 6 serving as the first electrode 7. The cylindrical body 6 except a nose portion is covered with an insulating cylinder 9. An outer circumference of the insulating cylinder 9 is covered with a tubular body of a metallic pipe constituting the second electrode 10, which has a lower end portion located at a certain height when viewing from the electrode 7.
