Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure easily and accurately the burnup by securing with a specific method within the burnup measuring sample water rod on the axial direction thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A burnup measuring rod 5 is forming by providing the burnup measuring sample 9 along the axis of hollow space comprising sheathed tube 6 where a plurality of small holes are arranged at the top and the bottom ends, and the top and the bottom end covers 7 and 8. The sample 9 is forming in the disc form the material which is zircaloy coated with the material of the same composition with fuel pellet, and secured at the center section with 4 screws 10 from the outside of sheathed tube 6. The diameter of sample is smaller than the sheathed tube 6 in order to avoid an obstruct of coolant way. The configuration of water rod may be arranged within the core as it is owing to use of water rod mounted within atomic reactor core as a burnup measuring rod. The burnup of core may be accurately and easily measured without use of a specific burnup measuring rod.
