Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive improvement of the reliabilty of the control storage section, by performing rereading of instructions when parity errors are detected in microinstructions read out from the control storage section, and by outputting error signals when errors are detected again during the course of rereading. CONSTITUTION:A parity check circuit 22 performs parity checks on microinstructions read out from a control storage section 11, and, when a parity error is detected, a selection signal 25 which makes void the results obtained by executing the microinstruction, is outputted from a retry control section 24. Microinstructions read out again from the storage section 11 is kept in a read data register 19, and outputted from the regiser 19, and then, receive parity check again at the circuit 22. In this case, if any error is detected, it is judged that the error is caused by a fatal inferiority of the storage section 11, and an error signal which prohibits retry of the storage section 11 is outputted. In this way, occurrence of erroneous operations are remarkably reduced and, at the same time, reliability of the control storage section 11 can be improved.
