Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure a turn-off time without failure of turn-off, by detecting the voltage between the gate and the cathode at the time of a turn-off operation of a thyristor. CONSTITUTION:A turn-off excess angle is shortened gradually by varying the timing of a reapplying voltage circuit 100, voltage between the gate and the cathode of a thyristor to be measured 3 is detected in each time, and its voltage value is compared with a reference electric power supply 700 which has been set in advance to a voltage value immediately before failure of turn-off, by a voltage comparing circuit 600. An output of the comparing circuit 600 is inputted to a controlling circuit 500, and a control signal according to the input is inputted to gate circuits 4, 6, a charging reverse voltage circuit 9 and the reapplying voltage circuit 100. That is to say, in case when the turn-off excess angle is long, each operation is repeated over again, the excess angle is shortened, and when the measured voltage has coincided with the reference value, its excess angle is measured. In this way, work efficiency is greatly improved.
