Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the operation of a blast furnace and to reduce the unit prodnct of coke, by controlling a necesary amount of water or a mixed fuel of water and heavy oil and blowing into the furnace at its tuyere together with hot air on the basis of momently varing falling distritoution in charged raw materials in the furnace top.
CONSTITUTION: When blowing water into the furnace, water in a water tank 10 is blown by operating a water feed pump 7 through a water feed main pipe 8, a water feed branch pipe 9 and a water blowing pipe 5 into the furnace 1 at its tuyere 2 together with hot air simultaneously blown through a blow pipe 3 into the furnace 1 at the same tuyere 2. In the water feed main pipe 8 and the water feed branch pipe 9, shut off valves 11, 12 and control valves 13, 14 are installed, respectively. Further, the feed water amount of the control valve 13 in the main pipe 8 is controlled by a water amount controller 17 which is operated by each instruction from a temperature controller 15, a hygrometer for the atmosphere 16 and a detector for falling distribution in charged raw materials such as a sounding rod. Thus, increase in volume of Basch gas in front of the tuyere 2 is restrained so that the water brown into the furnace shows a great effect as a stabilizer in the interior of the furnace.
