CONSTITUTION:A transparent film made of SiO2-Ta2O5 mixture contg. 15- 70wt% Ta2O5 and having 300-1,500Angstrom thickness is formed on glass contg. >=5wt% alkali metal such as ordinary inexpensive soda glass, and the film coated glass is used as a substrate for a liq. crystal panel. Said mixture may contain <=5wt% P2O5.
