Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an easy-to-see screen by applying the reflection-free coating on the upper panel surface of the liquid crystal panel which is the display substance of the liquid crystal television.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display panel consists of upper panel 1, transparent electrode 2, liquid crystal 3 and lower panel 4 each. Reflection-free coating thin film 5 of ZrO2 or the like is formed on the surface of panel 1 into the thickness of 800W1000Å. The ZrO2 features the refractive index of about 2.0 and thus is capable of making the optimum wavelength close to reflective factor O. Thus, the optical reflection is reduced on the upper panel and with increment of the incident ray volume to the liquid crystal panel. As a result, the contrast is increased to ensure an easy-to-see screen.
