CONSTITUTION: In the reflection type liquid crystal display device formed by sandwiching a nematic liquid crystal layer 7 between the optical fiber aggregate plate 4 provided with a liquid crystal molecule orientation layer 6 and transparent electrode 5 and the back glass substrate 11 provided with a liquid crystal molecule orientation layer 9 and transparent electrode 10 and disposing a front polarizer 3 to the top side thereof (observation side) and a back polarizer 12 and reflecting plate 13 to the bottom side thereof, a mirror surface reflecting plate is used as the above- mentioned reflecting plate 13. Hence, the incident angle θ4 of incident angle 15 and the reflection angle θ5 of reflected light 16 become equal and the external light entering through the optical fiber aggregate plate 4 is surely led to the outside through the plate 4.
