Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the aperture rate of a liquid crystal, by providing a mosaic lens sheet, where minute lenses are formed into a shape like mosaic in accordance with respective display picture elements, in the front of a display device. CONSTITUTION:A mosaic lens sheet 300 for converging a light is formed by molding transparent plastic or the like and is provided in the front of a display device, and respective lens elements converge the light into a range of the area where the liquid crystal of display picture elements of the matrix liquid crystal is driven actually. In respect to lights whose angles of incidence are approximately right angles to the display surface as a light quantity incident to the liquid crystal display device, when these lights are converged to a liquid crystal driving electrode 306 of a region, where the liquid crystal is driven actually, while avoiding a wiring region 308, only lights of the part driven actually in a liquid crystal are reflected and are observed. Accordingly, this mosaic lens sheet is used in the matrix display device to enhance the aperture rate of each picture element.
