Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the visibility in all directions, by forming the display surface to an approximately closed curved face. CONSTITUTION:An upper electrode substrate 2a and a lower electrode substrate 3a are formed with plastic or the like, and an upper polarizing plate 1a, a lower polarizing plate 4a, a reflective plate 5a, etc. are stuck to these substrates 2a and 3a made flat. This element is made round into a cylindrical shape or a ball, and fayed parts are adhered to each other, thus forming a liquid crystal display element where the display surface has a radius of a finite curvature and is an approximately closed curved face. A terminal part and a driving circuit part, at least, of these parts and a light source are arranged in the closed curved face. Thus, the liquid crystal display element is obtained where the dispaly is seen well from all directions.
