Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively collect dust of high resistance by a method in which corona discharge current is charged in a capacitor and then discharged to a constant-voltage discharge circuit at a given time in such a way as to control voltage mode on the intermittent AC power source side.
CONSTITUTION: A capacitor 13 is inserted in series into a closed circuit consisting of a power source circuit by which DC voltage for an electric dust collector is generated and a dust collector 4. And, corona current generated at an ionization electrode 3 is charged in the capacitor 13, and when the capacitor 13 reaches a given potential, a switching circuit 14 is operated and the charge of the capacitor 13 is discharged. Then, pulse signal is generated, the number of the signal generated is counted to judge the magnitude of coronal current, and the mode of intermittent AC voltage is controlled by a controller 15. Thus, the power source can be automatically controlled, and high-resistance dust can be collected effectively.
