Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently catch dusts including high resistivity dusts having a resistivity of 1011Ωcm or more, without changing a voltage to be charged between electrodes, by changing the intermittent ratio of an A.C. voltage to be overlapped onto a D.C. voltage, and precisely controlling a colona discharge current.
CONSTITUTION: A switching part 12 which switches an A.C. voltage to be charged between terminals 10, 11 connected to an A.C. source, is arranged. A control means 13 is arranged to change the ratio of the charging period of a voltage outputted from the switching part 12 to its noncharging period at a desired value. A transformer 14 which raises the intermittent A.C. voltage outputted from the switching part 12 to a predetermined level, is arranged. A D.C. voltage is charged between the dust-catching electrode 18 and the ionizing electrode 19 of a dust catcher 17 from a D.C. source 15 through a protective resistance 16 against the A.C. in a manner such that the ionizing electrode 19 is in the state of a negative electrode against the dust-catching electrode 18. The intermittent A.C. voltage outputted from the transformer 14 is charged through a capacitor 20 onto the ionizing electrode 19.
