Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect switching element from surge voltage by connecting series circuit for diode and capacitor in parallel with element and by applying suppressing reference voltage to the contact between diode and capacitor.
CONSTITUTION: A series circuit is provided for the relay coil 1 and the transistor TR2 for controlling the coil, and the series circuit consisting of the diode 3 and the capacitor 4 is connected in parallel with the collector and emitter of the TR2 by connecting its cathode side to the collector side. Furthermore, the resistor 5 for discharging charging current is connected to the capacitor 4 to divide the voltage by the resistor 11 and 5 so that the suppressing reference voltage VB is applied to the contact between the diode 3 and the capacitor 4. Thus, it is possible to suppress surge voltage and thus to protect switching element from surge voltage.
